Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
By using Onion.Training, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Who We Are
- Onion.Training is run by 15DegreesNorth Limited
- The Service = access to our online courses, resources, and training materials about software testing
- You = anyone visiting or using our site
2. What We Offer
Onion Training Academy is a membership site providing online software testing courses and educational content.
Important: We describe what we offer in the best way we can, but we're not perfect. We may update descriptions or fix pricing errors. We're also allowed to swap in equal or similar features if we need to.
3. Age Requirements
- You must be at least 16 to sign up for your own account
- Users aged 13–15 can access the platform only with permission from a parent, carer, or school
- If a school registers students, the school confirms it has parental consent for anyone under 16
4. Creating Your Account
When you sign up, you must:
- Provide accurate information (name, email, username, password)
- Keep your information up to date
- Use only your own name and email
- Not use your account for illegal purposes
- Follow all applicable laws in your location
You're responsible for protecting your account password.
5. What You Can Use This For
You can only use Onion.Training for legal purposes. Specifically:
Don't:
- Post anything illegal, threatening, abusive, or hateful
- Share anything defamatory, obscene, or that violates someone's privacy
- Post instructions for illegal activities or anything that causes harm
- Impersonate anyone or claim to be someone you're not
- Use this for commercial purposes (selling the material, for example)
- Violate anyone's copyright, trademarks, or intellectual property
You're financially responsible for anything you buy or anyone else buys through your account.
6. We Can Refuse Service
- We can refuse to serve you, cancel your order, or delete your account at any time without explaining why. We're under no obligation to do so.
- If you work for a company that offers competing software testing training, we reserve the right to remove your account.
- No order is final until we've processed your payment.
7. Order Confirmation
We'll email you to confirm your order and provide delivery details. If there's an error in our confirmation email, tell us right away.
8. How Long Your Access Lasts
Once we confirm your order, we'll give you access to the Service.
Access delays: We use third-party providers (web hosting, plugins, etc.) to run the platform. If there are delays in access, that's not our fault, and you can't sue us over it.
Lifetime access means for as long as the Service exists and your account is active. If Onion closes or you delete your account, your access ends.
We can stop the Service or remove features anytime, with or without notice. We'll try to give notice when we can.
9. Can You Get Your Money Back?
9.1 The 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
You have 14 days from purchase to request a refund if you're unhappy with the course. This is required by UK law (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
How much you get back depends on how much of the course you've completed:
- Completed 0–20% → You get an 80% refund
- Completed 21–99% → Sliding scale (the more you've done, the less you get back)
- Completed 100% → No refund
Refunds are processed within 14 days of your request.
Important: By accessing the course or any bonus materials, you're asking for immediate delivery. This means you give up your right to cancel and get the 14-day cooling-off period. You can still request a refund under these terms, but only if you meet the conditions above.
This guarantee does NOT apply if:
- Your purchase included immediate access to bonus materials or special intro offers
- You received a special promotional deal
9.2 After 14 Days
After the 14 days:
- No refunds (except for faulty content under consumer law)
- Your access to the course you purchased remains active
Since we only offer one-time purchases (not subscriptions), there's no automatic billing to cancel.
10. Product Descriptions
We try to describe our courses accurately, but we're not perfect. Descriptions may have errors. We fix these when we find them. We can refuse or cancel orders if the price listed is wrong.
11. What Happens If You Share Material on Our Site
Don't upload copyrighted or trademarked material without permission from the owner. You're responsible for checking this.
If you share something that violates copyright, trademarks, or someone's privacy, you're liable for the damage.
By posting anything on our site, you:
- Confirm you have the right to share it
- Give us permission to use it for marketing and promotion
- Agree that we can record your voice, image, and words for marketing purposes
We'll try to get your written permission before using recordings or materials with your name on them. But we don't always have to.
12. Your Rights to Your Material
You keep the copyright and any other rights to anything you post on Onion. We don't claim ownership.
By posting material, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, permanent license to use it for business, marketing, and promotion.
You agree we can record webinars and calls and use them for marketing without extra payment to you.
13. Our Intellectual Property
Everything on Onion.Training—the courses, materials, designs, trademarks—is ours. You get a single-user license only.
You cannot:
- Share our material with anyone else
- Post excerpts on social media
- Blog about it or summarise it publicly
- Create derivative works (remixes, translations, adaptations)
- Sell it or give it away
- Copy or redistribute anything without our permission
If we catch you doing this, we'll remove you immediately with no refund.
14. We Can Change These Terms Anytime
We can update these terms whenever we want. The changes take effect immediately when we post them on the site. If you keep using Onion after we update the terms, you'll be accepting the new terms.
We'll post the update date so you know when things changed.
15. Limits on What We're Responsible For
We're not liable for:
- Any indirect losses (lost profits, lost business, lost data, damaged reputation)
- Service interruptions, hacking, viruses, or system failures
- Problems caused by third-party providers we use
- Loss of revenue or missed opportunities
- Anyone else stealing or misusing your information
This applies even if we were negligent or should have seen the problem coming.
Our maximum liability to you is:
- The amount you paid for the Service, OR
- £100 (if you didn't pay anything)
We're not liable for anything beyond this amount.
16. Links to Other Websites
Our site may link to third-party websites. We're not responsible for those sites or their content. Links don't mean we endorse them. You use third-party sites at your own risk.
17. You're Responsible for Our Legal Costs
- If you break these terms or misuse the site, you agree to pay our legal costs if we have to defend ourselves or take action against you. This includes attorney's fees.
- If someone sues us because of something you did, you'll cover our defence costs.
18. Headings
The section headings in this agreement are just for organisation. They don't change what the terms actually mean.
19. This Is Our Whole Agreement
This is the complete agreement between us about Onion.Training. It replaces anything we said before.
If we ignore one part of these terms, that doesn't mean we're ignoring the whole thing. We have to agree in writing to change anything.
20. How to Contact Us
Send anything in writing to: 15DegreesNorth Limited 124 City Road London England EC1V 2NX
21. If We Have to Go to Court
If either of us takes legal action over these terms and wins, the losing party pays the winner's legal fees and court costs.
22. If Part of This Is Illegal
If a court decides any part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the agreement stays in effect.
